Getting A New York State License? We Can Help

Below is a selection of classes needed or used to acquire the skills and paperwork to successfully pass a New York State road test. The 5 hr. Pre-Licensing class is mandatory, the others are not. All courses are taught by Kevin Leonard

This is a program that other schools don't have.  Students will spend one hour in class viewing a power point presentation describing many aspects of the dangers of roadside breakdowns, vehicle weak points, fluid recognition as well as pre-planning for road trips and everyday driving.  Students then enter the shop to view the under carriage, and engine compartment of our school vehicle.  Then conduct a hands-on tire change.  This program was designed by Kevin Leonard with the specific purpose to be more of a boot camp into the world of driving and street survival using an interactive, student-centered approach.  Call today to learn more!  NYS Permit Required 

This 5 hour class is mandated for all new drivers in New York State. This class earns you a MV-278 certificate which is needed for making a road test appointment.  This certificate is active for one year and then it is void.  We teach with small class sizes on purpose for more effect. Currently we do 2 or 3 per month based on demand. Call for details and to pre-register.  Student must have a NYS permit to attend. 

We offer private driving lessons in our dual controlled school car for those who need hands on training.  Kevin Leonard teaches these lessons personally.  The focus is on proper, safe and defensive driving techniques.  Students will be challenged with parallel parking, 3 point turns, the open road and inner city driving.  Call us with your needs and let's get your student trained!  Driving Lessons-60 min.  NYS Permit Required.  An upcharge for out of service area lessons.

 If you feel you are ready for the road test but want a professional opinion, we can help.  This 30 min evaluation is a perfect solution to calm your nerves before an upcoming road test.  Kevin will put you through a simulated road test and see how you do.  An honest critique, some driving advice and a review of your paperwork will follow each evaluation.  NYS Permit Required
